I work with people who feel stuck. Whether that’s anxiety that won’t shut off, stress that’s burning you out, substance use that is interfering with your goals or relationships, or patterns in relationships that keep repeating, no matter how hard you try to change them.

My approach is direct, practical, and collaborative. Using Trauma-Informed CBT and Motivational Interviewing, we won’t just talk about what’s going on; we’ll break it down, understand it, and build a plan that moves you forward. I also focus on communication and relational patterns, helping you feel more confident expressing yourself.

I also support individuals exploring or working to change their substance use. If you’re interested in working together, feel free to reach out to schedule a consultation. If you are unsure where to start, that's okay, we’ll work through it together. My goal is to help you feel more in control, clearer, and more aligned with the life you want to build.

Vicki Poleni, MSW, LMSW, LMT

I’d like to use my over 3 decades of experience to help you to feel less alone, more empowered, and hopeful.  I have more than 30 years in the field, including 15 years in hospice work, and have been a professor in the School of Social Work at Western Michigan University for the past 16 years. The teletherapy I provide is supportive, validating, and encouraging while also touching on the tough parts we all sometimes avoid. I listen intently and offer observations based on attachment and psychoanalytic theories. I specialize in the areas of depression, anxiety, stress management, the emotional impact of illness or trauma, and professional caregiver challenges. Together, you and I will choose a path that brings you strength and light and we’ll rediscover the resilience I know you have.

Rebecca Ward, MSW, LLMSW

Therapy saved my life. After experiencing years of interpersonal relationship abuse and a lifetime of religious trauma, therapy helped pull me from an incredibly dark place and give my life purpose and direction again. In 2019 I decided to pursue a master’s in social work so that I could help others experience hope, maybe for the first time.

If you are struggling with the feelings of hopelessness and loss after leaving your faith of origin, estrangement from your family of origin, or having difficulty navigating normal daily life after experiencing trauma, I want to help. I am absolutely passionate about helping those recovering from religious trauma, as well as those in the LGBTQIA+ community who are dealing with loss or estrangement after coming out or trying to navigate coming out to family members that are not accepting. I have experience with deconstructing  physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, trauma from cults, high control religion, abusive relationships and more.

If depression and anxiety have taken over after a major life change, or you simply need help navigating a big life change or loss, I would love to help. You are not alone.

Personal note: I have an MSW with a clinical focus specializing in trauma across the lifespan. I work with adults and prefer to take a client centered approach to therapy. I currently live in the mountains with my partner, our toddler, and our 5 cats. In my spare time I enjoy reading and taking walks with my family exploring our town.
